Puzzle Pro

We gave Carter a big USA map puzzle and a big World Map puzzle for Christmas. Yesterday night he put together the USA puzzle entirely by himself and was naming off a majority of the states as he put them in! He knows Uncle Cory and his family lives in South Carolina and he knows he lives in Washington... except when he's putting together the puzzle he says he and daddy live in Ohio..... there is a picture of a football on the Ohio piece and he likes to play football with Brandon (I guess footballs are more exciting than apples).
Way to go buddy! You're growing up so fast!

Update to last post

... Max can climb stairs now too!.... I think.....
I just left Carter and Max up in the play room while I ran down stairs to make a bottle. When I came back upstairs (like 3 minutes later) Max was in Carter's room! Our play room is sunken by two steps, so to get to Carter's room he somehow made it up those steps. I asked Carter if he picked up Max and he said no. Sometimes I would ask him again to make sure but he was quietly building towers with his blocks and I assume I would've heard screaming if this had actually happened.... so my friends.... Max can now climb stairs. I don't know if this is a trick that he'll only do while I'm not looking.... I'm going to investigate more tomorrow.... not sure if I want him climbing steps yet.... YIKES! He's grown up fast in the last month!

Max is 9 months!

Max turned 9 months last Friday (1/8/10) and he's made a few developmental landmarks as well... He started crawling on new years day, he can go from crawling to sitting up by himself as of last week, on Sunday morning (yesterday) when I came into his room to get him out of his crib he was standing holding onto the rails!! Today he climbed up onto the treadmill by himself!!! Watch out world here he comes!

What's Cookin?

A few days ago Carter got a Highlights magazine in the mail. We don't know who signed him up for this magazine but if it was you..... thank you! He absolutely loves it! On Friday he carried it around the mall with him and today he insisted on taking it to church!!
In this issue there was a recipe for Mac and Cheese Muffins and he kept asking me if we could make them. So, since I had no plans for dinner tonight, I let Carter be the chef and we made them together. He had such a good time and even wore his own apron (thanks Stephanie). I wouldn't suggest making these if you're having company coming over because they were really bland tasting but... if you have a kiddo that likes to help in the kitchen it was a simple recipe that had lots of opportunities for little hands to participate.

Starry Night

Here is the one hanging in our bathroom... Here is the one Carter did...
I saw his magnadoodle sitting on the ottoman...

Happy Halloween

Carter and Brandon often go around the house talking "pirate talk" to each other (if Carter ever calls you a "yellow belly land lover" I appologize in advance). The obvious choice for a costume for Carter this year was a pirate. Here are some photos:Brandon dressed up as a knight. Doesn't he look intemidating? Needless to say no one messed with us when we went trick or treating. Max was a spider and I was a web. When we went out trick or treating I put him in the baby bjorn and safety pinned on 4 more legs. I think 4 legged spiders are pretty cute though.

Fear the Mullet no more

Max had a bit of a mullet and a comb over going on (ok maybe it was a major mulet). We decided it was time for his first hair cut tonight. I know it looks like I'm poking him in the head with the scissors but I promise I wasn't. Here is an after shot...
He is turning into such a little man already. My how time flies!
